An Afternoon in Zurich
It sprinkled a bit as we explored downtown Zurich, not enough to use an umbrella, but enough to notice. Undeterred, we climbed the steps to the tower of Großminster, one of the three large churches in the center of town. I think it was 915 steps, a combination of stone spirals and creaky wooden planks. Worth the climb for the view.
The railing around the top balcony had these stone swirls. How would that look in a stain glass quilt?
I have no idea what this says, but I enjoyed this piece of graffiti the most on the walls of the stairs on the way down.
No matter where I go, I find quilt blocks in the tile floors or wall decorations or stonework and Zurich was no exception. Here's a room extension with three blocks as decoration. The angles aren't quite right to make them without set-in-seams, but we could work something out.
